Bukkehornet (prillarhornet) er med sin såre og lengtende tone kanskje det mest fasinerende av de eldre norske blåseinstrumentene. Fra å være et skremmeinstrument uten fingerhull og med ei kraftig skingrende tone, har det med tida fått 3- 4 fingerhull som gjør det mulig å spille både salmetoner, bånsuller og pols, forutsatt at du har et godt horn og god leppetrening.
The Billygoats Horn ,with its raw, moaning timbre is perhaps the most fascinating amongst the older Norwegian wind instruments. From its origin as a "scaring instrument" with no finger holes and a loud shrill tone, it has aquired 3-4 finger holes making it possible to play both psalms, lullabies and Pols, provided the player possesses a good horn and good "chops".
